The Hemiwedge® Cartridge Valve has a unique design ideal for high temperature service applications.  This high temperature valve provides a mechanical seal as the hemispherical wedge closure member loads an all-metal seat, providing tight shutoff performance which cannot be matched with lapped metal-seated (position-seated) ball valves. 

Molecular sieve, hot oil, steam, reactor isolation, and isomerization process switching are all applications in which the Hemiwedge® Cartridge Valve provides a distinct advantage in high temperature valve applications over older technologies. 

Another unique advantage of the Hemiwedge® Cartridge Valve is that the trim can be modified without removing the valve from service, and it can be done quickly and easily with a cartridge that has been seat-tested.  As many operation personnel will attest, process conditions often change.  The ability to quickly change trim without replacing the complete valve is a tremendous benefit in keeping the plant online.
